Since 1922, we’ve been making paper work for our customers.

Stonehouse Paper & Bag Mills is an independent family business in Gloucestershire. We make paper bags, sacks, sleeves, pockets, sheets, rolls and other converted formats to suit the job.

Different products.
Different pressures.

A bag for a metal component has a different job from one used for food or retail. Tell us what is going inside, how it will be packed and where it is going. We can then recommend a suitable format and paper.

Industrial parts

Sleeves, pockets and specialist papers for components that need protection in storage or transit.

Food & produce

Bags, sheets and grease-resistant papers made around the product and packing method.

Retail & hospitality

Carrier bags, counter bags and printed formats for goods customers take away.

Makers & manufacturers

Non-standard sizes and practical production runs for products that do not fit an off-the-shelf pack.

What we make

Choose a starting point. Each format can be made to the dimensions, paper and finish agreed for your order, with print available where required.

The right paper starts with the job.

Some products need strength. Others need a clear view, resistance to grease, protection for metal or a better surface for print. Stonehouse Paper converts the grades below and can help narrow the choice for your application.

01

Pure Kraft

Strong, familiar brown kraft with a visible fibre.

02

Coloured Kraft

Kraft paper specified in coloured grades.

03

Glassine

Smooth, translucent paper for seeing what is inside.

04

Grease Resistant

A smoother sheet used where resistance to grease matters.

05

Antirust

Specialist paper for protecting metal components.

06

PE Coated Kraft

Kraft with a coated face for added barrier performance.

07

Unikraft

A specialist kraft grade available for converted formats.

08

Claycoated

A coated surface suited to a cleaner printed finish.

09

Waxed

A treated paper with a distinctive smooth, sealed feel.

10

Speciality & recycled

Other grades can be discussed against the intended use.

Plain or printed. The format stays practical.

Many of our paper bags and converted formats can be supplied plain or printed. Send us your artwork, colours and intended print area, and we’ll check what works with the paper and construction you need.

You do not need to arrive with a finished specification. A sample, drawing or plain description of the job is a useful start.
